Fifty years of the Washington Capitals deserves a captivating retrospective, and CityCenterDC’s latest experience does just that, bringing iconic Capitals players—past and present—to life in Palmer Alley.
In collaboration with ARTECHOUSE, this bespoke augmented reality experience rolls out the red carpet for the Capitals greats and memorable jerseys of the last five decades. From pioneering names like Mike Marson, only the second Black player to take the NHL ice, and Rod “Secretary of Defense” Langway of the ‘80s and early ‘90s, all the way to seven-time Maurice “Rocket”Richard Award-winning Alexander Ovechkin, this digital activation celebrates the names who made the Capitals franchise what it is today.
If you’re ready to take part in this heritage-making moment, head to Palmer Alley and take part in the installation with three simple steps: download and open the ARTECHOUSE XR App by scanning the QR code in the left image. Once inside the Activation Zone, keep the app open and you’ll see a logo icon to select the Capitals activation. From there, follow the on-screen instructions and tap to place the activation in Palmer Alley.
