CITYCENTERDC’S 10TH Anniversary CELEBRATION
A decade of CityCenterDC coincides with our spectacular Annual Holiday Tree Lighting celebration.
This December, CityCenterDC has had so much to celebrate. On top of a beautiful holiday season filled with thoughtful gift giving, it’s also our pedestrian-friendly project’s tenth anniversary: a decade of bringing art installations, engaging activations, public parks and, of course, unparalleled luxury shopping to downtown D.C. These triumphant festivities synchronized with our much-anticipated 10th Annual Holiday Tree Lighting event where, along with the illumination of CityCenterDC’s iconic 75-foot tree, extra-special activities were planned for all of those who attended. On November 25th, hundreds gathered to partake in the festive spirit in The Park at CityCenterDC. Backed to a live soundtrack of classic-meets-contemporary holiday songs performed by The Revels and a jubilant ten-piece band, visitors experienced a surprise-filled program filled with fun for the entire family. Read on for all the sparkling details from this unforgettable evening.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY
For the 10th year running, our Tree Lighting Ceremony was effortlessly emceed by NBC4 anchor Eun Yang who introduced the evening’s revelry and cut a grand, four-tier cake alongside Timothy Lowery, Vice President – Mixed-Use at Hines and General Manager of CityCenterDC, and Muriel Bowser, the Washington DC’s Mayor.
THE Merry ACTIVITIES
FACE PAINTING
Here at CityCenterDC, we’re all about joyful fun for the whole family. Talented artists at our face-painting station brought the festive flair, transforming little ones into Santa himself.
BALLOON ART
More elevated moments for the young ones continued at CityCenterDC’s holiday celebration with balloon art. Holiday-themed ideas, like larger-than-life candy canes, delighted all who walked away with one.
SPECIAL SWEETS
You can’t commemorate the holidays without a bevy of festive treats. Epicurean offerings like cotton candy, gourmet popcorn and mini donuts kept the spirited crowd satisfied all evening long.
