CityCenterDC Celebrates the National Cherry Blossom Festival by Adorning Palmer Alley with Hundreds of Pink Lanterns

 

Washington, DC – For the fourth consecutive year, CityCenterDC shows its support for the National Cherry Blossom Festival by participating in City in Bloom. From March 13 through April 17, CityCenterDC has placed hundreds of pink lanterns above Palmer Alley creating a whimsical, bright atmosphere for all to enjoy. This year CityCenterDC is also launching its first ever Instagram contest. Visitors are encouraged to share their photos on Instagram using hashtag #CCDCinBloom for the chance to win a $350 CityCenterDC gift card. Official rules can be viewed at CityCenterDC.com/events.

Several CityCenterDC establishments are also getting into the spirit. After enjoying the lantern display, stop in to RareSweets, DBGB Kitchen and Bar, Milk Bar, and Fig & Olive to check out their cherry blossom themed specials:

 

RareSweets: Cherry Blossom Cookies ($3.65 per cookie, or $21 per 6 pack) chocolate shortbread cookies with royal icing and floral details. Image available upon request.

 

DBGB Kitchen and Bar: Daniel Boulud’s French-American bistro, DBGB Kitchen & Bar, is celebrating the National Cherry Blossom Festival with seasonal springtime specials. Enjoy cherry blossom inspired cocktail —  ‘She Got the Way to Groove Me’ featuring Bugey-Cerdon sparkling rosé, Campari, luxardo maraschino, and lemon garnished with candied flower petal to celebrate the change in season. From the kitchen enjoy our greenmarket special —  Warm Asparagus Salad, with whole grain mustard dressing, a poached egg, frisée and duck prosciutto. Image available upon request.

 

Milk Bar: Exclusive to Milk Bar DC for a limited-time, it’s a fruity meets floral combination of freeze-dried cherries, cranberries, milk crumbs, and rose water essence with more cherries and cranberries dusted on top! Image available upon request.

 

Fig & Olive: Fig & Olive celebrates Cherry Blossom Season with seasonal menu items and an Instagram contest for the chance to win a Chef’s Dinner for two (2).
